Tommy & The Runaway Boys is this great band from the western part of Norway. They're mainly a blues band, but have this great young "twist" to their music. If you go to one of T&TRB's gigs you will get a great mixture of blues, rockabilly, ballads, rock and pop music. And if you get hooked by the music and want to go to as many gigs as possible (like we do...)-don't worry- it's never the same gig! It's just as fun every time-and it's impossible to leave and not smile, 'cause this band's got "something different" no one else got. So check out their tourdates and be sure that you don't miss the next gig !
Tommy
"Plystre" Kristiansen (b.1985) plays the guitar in the band. He is a busy young man with a lot on his hands. He plays in several other bands (Olav Undeland Band, Exe Experience) and with many others as a solo artist (Eirik Bergene, Mari Tesdal). In April/May 2005 he was on tour with Warner Music recording artist Magnet. He has been said to be one of Norway’s most talented young blues guitarists... We didn’t
say it... but we agree!
The Runaway Boys
"Gullfisken" Borge (b.1984), Oeystein Langhelle (b.1981) and Lars Hammersland (b.1982)make up The Runaway Boys. "Gullfisken" joined the band fall 2003 when he took over the
drums after Kyrre Laastad. These days he is off to join the army… Kyrre will then be
back for a few gigs, what happens after that… we’ll have to wait and see! Oeystein
is the bas player who always gets asked if he plays metal! Truth be told- he’d love
to! But he has played with the band since the start- blues for the last 5 years.
Lars became a runaway boy fall 2004. His piano playing skills gave the band a new,
totally cool, sound! He also teaches piano… and we’re waiting to hear the results!
